The HanLing Acupuncture Team

A sage once said ‘life is a winding road”, to which Dr. Myers’ experiences are a testament. Despite work as a carpenter, a construction foreman, a window and door installer, an accountant, a manager… she always harbored a deep fascination for healing and all things green and leafy.

A study of Kung Fu introduced her to the ancient traditional healing arts, and the discovery that plants can be used to heal sparked a passion for creating formula, liniments, and creams that fill in the gaps that mainstream medicine often miss.

While working in Parkinson’s disease education Dr. Myers followed her passion, leading her to complete a Masters in Acupuncture from the Han University of Traditional Medicine and a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Health and Science. Nationally board certified with the NCCOAM and licensed in Arizona, she is fully qualified to address your aches, pains, and other health care needs.

Not only is she experienced in addressing the lower back, shoulder, and neck pain that acupuncture treats so well, but is also trained in the recently developed techniques of cosmetic acupuncture and Neuro-Acupuncture for treatment of neurological disorders, such as Anxiety and Parkinson’s disease.

Jason Umberger is an acupuncturist and IT consultant that takes his love of understanding how things function and applies them to the healing and fine-tuning of the human body.  As long time martial artist and meditator, he finds that martial arts and meditative practices have helped him cultivate the skills to create a space for others and focus on the central point of what needs adjustment for a person seeking good health.  Jason endeavors to help others experience and practice the fundamentals of the Daoist arts in a structured, reproducible way.    

He holds a Doctorate in Acupuncture from the Pacific College of Health and Science and a Master’s in Acupuncture from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture. He has also completed the Advanced Acupuncture program at the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center in Beijing, China.    He has received advanced training in Acupuncture Injection Therapy,  the FAST Technique , and numerous movement-oriented healing techniques.  Nationally board certified by the NCCAOM and licensed in Arizona, Dr. Umberger is also a member of ASLAT and AMAAZ.

Danette Baldonado is the office manager, and she is also the Yellow Tulip Parkinson’s Home Treatment Program customer service manager. She is a Tucson native and has a background in customer service and patient care. She graduated from Carrington college as a Medical Assistant in 2012 and entered the healthcare field. After working with a family practice doctor and observing them treat patients with a bulk of medications and injections, she evaluated her approach to medicine and decided to find another way. She was looking for something more than just prescriptions and shots and something more holistic. She started with HanLing Acupuncture Healing Center in 2013. With acupuncturist Steve Liu’s help she learned the importance of a healthy lifestyle and its impact for not only herself but her husband and their three children. She loves to help others live a better lifestyle and that in most cases she’s able to assist Steve in curing patients soft tissue injuries. Danette is a dedicated office staff member, passionate about health, and she is the first person that you will be greeted by when you visit our office.
